African American MinistryBetty Jones 706-790-5208
The purpose of the African American Ministry is to educate others about our heritage and culture as it relates to the church and other cultures. In conjunction with the Diocesan office we foster and develop opportunities for African American Catholic youth to receive academic, cultural and spiritual growth. During the month of February the African American Ministry develops and hosts a special Mass and program showcasing the heritage of African Americans. Annually the African American Ministry holds a bake sale and fish fry to raise funds to benefit causes in the community. The Ministry also does outreach by visiting the elder in nursing homes and conduct clothing drives for the needy. The African American Ministry meets the 3rd Saturday of the month in St. Nicholas Hall at 3:00pm from September to May. If you have any questions please contact Betty Jones.
